Portuguese Filigree Workshop in Lisbon
Three hours at the atelier bench with Lea Nogueira, building your first filigree piece — wire by wire, the way it has been done in Portugal for centuries.
About this workshop
Portuguese filigree is one of the most delicate and symbolic expressions of our material culture. In this intensive 3-hour workshop you work hands-on with this ancestral technique, learning how the wire is built, how the design is composed and how the structure is assembled.
The session combines demonstration, guided practice and one-to-one support, so that every participant builds a simple filigree piece and understands the rigour, precision and sensitivity the technique demands.
More than learning a method, this workshop is an encounter with the slow time of making by hand.
